Tired Guy!

Alex got home from football last night around 7:30, took a shower and then ate a HUGE plate of spaghetti. He then waited patiently while I looked up his homework assignment online. In the two minutes it took me to do that he was sleeping in the hallway with the lights on and TV blaring. Obviously, he didn't get his homework done last night but was more than willing to do it this morning!

Jerry sews??

Last night I had class and about 1/2 way through I got a text message from Jerry: Our conversation went like this:
Jerry: Where is your sewing kit?
Kelly: Not sure, why?

At this point I was already wondering.....

Jerry: I made a skirt out of that yellow cloth

Now I am thinking....yeah, right. But how does he know about the yellow cloth anyway??

Kelly...LOL

Jerry....Why did you say that?

Kelly....Well, I guess I didn't know your Mom taught you how to sew....and I didn't know you wore skirts....and I didn't know you were domestic.

Jerry....Mom, I want to know where the sewing kit is and what does domestic mean?

Larkin learned to text.

Run Mason, Run!

Mason had his first cross country meet yesterday! He decided to join last week and did a great job ---he ran 2 miles and placed 78th out of 208 runners. His time was 14:30. We are looking forward to the next meet!

sick...of hate

I believe everyone has their right to their own opinion.

What I don't believe is that everyone has their own right to hate.

I really, really, really want to go into a long rant about human rights but I won't because I don't have time. It is something that bothers me--that whites have privileges just because they are white. That Christians have privileges just because they are Christian. That the wealthy have privileges just because they are wealthy. That Americans have privileges just because they are American.

Please don't hate because someone doesn't look like you. Please don't hate because someone doesn't believe what you do. Please don't hate because someone doesn't have the amount of money you do. Please don't hate. Because for thousands of years we have hated and where has it gotten us?

Okay, I am done. For now.

Preschool!

Bennett was super excited to start preschool yesterday morning....on the way there he said to me, "Mom, I already know all the rules you know." Well, I sure hope he plans to follow those rules! He seemed to really like his class and he was definitely tired when we got home! He was sleeping by 7:30...and this morning when I woke him up at 6:00 he wasn't any too anxious to get out of bed!

My 3rd Grader!

Getting Larkin ready for school this morning was a little bit sad for me! First, I couldn't believe that she is almost nine years old and that she was starting third grade! I was also sad because she really didn't need (or want!) my help..... she did her own hair, picked out her own clothes, and packed her own lunch! Many people have commented on Facebook about how much she has grown--it is so true. Here are the first day of school pictures before we left home this morning....Happy First Day of School!
